Growing up in Trail, B.C. I was always into playing outdoors. Throughout highschool I found my passion in exercise, from stair climbing, to aerobics classes and doing pushups in my bedroom. I loved seeing the results right away. Soon afterwards I moved to Vancouver to pursue my career.
Working different jobs and industries, I decided to one day hire a personal trainer for myself. After the first session I knew exactly what to do and started my career as a personal trainer, yoga instructor shortly after. Within two years of working long hours and hustling to get my clients I had a steady client base and have made life long friends throughout the process.
After living in Vancouver for almost 15 years I decided to come back to the Okanagan to be closer to family and friends.
A majority of my personal training experience has been with men and women of all types, including beginners, pre- teens, pre and post natal, and including third age.
I have completed Seek the Peak, three half marathons, hiked the Grouse Grind numerous times (fastest time 40 min) and in my spare time I enjoy hiking, yoga and strength training.

Weight training is a must. If you’re not resistance training while you’re going all-out on your cardio routine, you are going to lose muscle. The more muscle mass we have in our bodies translates to more calories burned, even when we’re not exercising. If you’re just doing cardio, you can lose about one pound of muscle for every four pounds of fat, which means you’re basically losing your metabolism. To maintain your muscle, incorporate two or three days of strength training: lifting dumbbells, using resistance tubing, body weight exercises like squats, planks and pushups — into your weekly mix.

Adding strength and resistance training to your running/hiking routine not only burns calories and helps build lean muscle tissue, but it can also keep your metabolism elevated. Incorporating strength training three times a week. One session should be high-intensity (where you take your muscles to fatigue), while the other two can be endurance activities using lighter weights and more repetitions or using your own body weight to provide resistance.
Practicing prenatal exercises will improve pelvic support and can allow for a more speedy recovery after childbirth. It may also help prevent injuries that are associated with the incredible process of growing a child and giving birth. Through supported workouts and poses, these specific exercises can be used to maintain good posture and alleviate recurring aches and pains associated with pregnancy.
Prenatal Fitness also focuses on breathing and relaxation. As your baby grows, it is important to maximize rib expansion to allow for easier breath, while relaxation is particularly important in the pelvic floor to allow for the necessary expansion during birth.
Bring along your best friend, your spouse or even your teenage kids.
I will cater the workout specifically to each person.
